Default Would this size of wheels fit on my IS250?

I did enough search on the forum, but I couldn't find this exact size.
Wondering if anyone can tell me if 18 x 8.5 with 51 offset w/225/40/18 tires would fit on my IS250 w/o rubbing or sticking out of body.
I wish that we can make a list of wheel fitment guide.

i belive we can run 35-40 anything less then that it will tuck under your fender and look odd, let alone it may rub the suspension parts......
what wheels are you looking at?

usually u would want the offset to run about... +38 to about +45... anything above that or below that wouldnt fit right... just like the person above me said ... +51 offset seems like it would not fit on the IS at all...

Thanks for your inputs.
Understanding offset thing is pretty complicative to me.
I think the stock oem 17 inch wheel has 48 offset, so I was thinking it should be Ok..
I was looking at SSR GT10 wheels.

in reality you would think 2-3 mm would not matter, but it actually does....... however you could get them and run 5 or 10mm spacers. It all depends on how aggressive you want the wheel to look and how flush to the fender.

when it comes to spacers there is alot of debate on the saftey and the reliablity of them, as long as you get some good spacers like eibach, H&R or kics you should be ok.

Hmm... So, with spacers, they won't stick out of fender?
thanks

You should check out the post below. People has different wheels specification and the the shocks and springs they use to lower their cars. It will give you a general idea on how your car will look with the wheels your getting.

here is a link that might explain it. A +1 offset increase together with your choice of rim width shouldnt make that much difference imho.

My dealer screwed up and put my rear 17" staggard wheels up front with the 48 offset and they rubbed. You won't be able to do 51 offset up front with an even wider wheel. Pass on those wheels and search the forums for proper size/fitment which should be around the 40 offset range and 8.5 width is as wide as you can run upfront.

The purpose of the link was to have you check out some of the guys that really push out there wheels till it can't go any further. If you can't find guys in there that has your exact size wheels and offset then it's a clear message that you have to get something similar.
