is it really a upgrade or downgrade in performance?

I would say downgrade considering the Lumens loss from this conversion...

But yeah.. very nice eye candy.

just replacing bulbs are not effective to the light brightness.....
Its better to do a HID mod consisting of ballasts and bulbs and projectors..

it's upgrade for the looks and downgrade for light output. I would rather have the look but that's just me.

Now I'm torn. I was/am considering changing my stock HID to 6000K because of the yellowness of stock but I like the light output of the stock. To bad they don't have a 5000K replacement bulb. Less yellow than stock and more light output than 6000K.

What bulbs are the 6000K and were they purchased from Xenonvalot?

don't worry dude, the light output will still be better than non-hid equipped IS I think.

Yes I do. here you go:

And for reference, the left part of the cutoff is from a stock IS350 w/HID. Right part of the cutoff (The whitter color) is the 6000K HID replacement bulbs
