Question All weather mats for FWD?

Weather is crappy in Chicago and I keep getting the 4WD hump dirty. Does anyone make a mat the will cover the transaxle hump on the drivers side? Any better way to protect it?

I'm experiencing the same problem. Right now I have a small black area rug underneath my Lexus mats to keep the AWD hump clean. Doesn't look great, but its doing the job.

I also wonder why they didn't put that hump on the passenger side...but that's a whole other story.

Default Lexus doesn't make...

one that covers the hump, just notched out around it. I searched WeatherTech and theirs are specifially for 2WD. I was thinking of going to a carpet store and seeing if they have a static type of plastic to afix to the area as it is rounded and "bumped" out.

For those in Europe, Asia, etc. who drive right side, the hump is on the passenger side. It was probably to much work to move the hump to the other side for us who drive left side.

I could be way off here, but I would guess that most of the AWD vehicles are sold in left hand drive countries - specifically the US and Canada. I find it odd that they didn't put the hump on the right side of the car - it would then be out of the way of the majority of IS drivers.

Perhaps because it would be beside the left leg of right hand side drivers, they decided that it would be too uncomfortable?
