Default How would you rate the seats in the IS compare to other cars

Simple question how would you rate the seats in the IS compare to other cars you own or have driven. My current car is only good for 1.5 hours max driving time before may back starts to hurt.

Compared to my other cars, G35(former), Trans-Am(former), S430(current)... the seats are like butter. I have driven 4 hours, no problem, just slight restless leg syndrome.

i personally think lexus could of done a better job with the seats in the IS350.
a much better job
they arent sport like
they dnt really hug you.
and after a month or two the leather looks really worn out and the seats begin to creek.

After driving cross-country twice, I have no complaints whatsoever about the comfort of the seats. The only thing I would improve would be the lateral supports for when my right foot gets itchy...

Mercedes Benz makes their seats really stiff...the IS has really soft buttery seats compared to my old E320. The lumbar support is pretty good.

Seats are much more comfortable than any other car in it's class in my opinion. I love em.

I agree pretty much with everything said here. The seats are good for cruising as they are supremely comfortable but lack support in sporting cornering situations. Far less supportive than the bucket seats I had in my RSX. However they are far more comfortable; the leather is supple, soft, and therefore prone to wear unlike the cardboard our Mercedes has.

FWIW, I've had better, but they're not bad. I've driven 6 hours straight in the car without any issues.

AFA lateral support, when the car was delivered the lumbar adjustment was just about peaked out and I thought the seat felt like an old bench seat from the 60's. Then I backed off the lumbar adjustment, and amazingly enough, there is lateral support there. You just have to pull back on the lumbar to find it. It's still no Recaro or even TT Supra, but it's tolerable for a car with an 80 pound driver's seat.

Not better than Volvo sport seats....

But better than offerings from BMW and Acura and Mercedes similar models.

x2. The seats in the coupe were a great compromise between comfort and lateral support. The IS is definitely less aggressive but more comfortable. It's kinda reminds me of my tempurpedic bed.

80lbs.? is that a guess or have you actually weighed the seats?

The only bad thing about soft leather is it can be scratched, scuffed and, beaten up easily.

Agreed. S60R sport seats are a lot nicer than the IS seats. They're comfy and they hug you a lot more. The leather grain might also be better.
