Default Recommendation for aftermarket alarm

Yay, I just picked up my IS250RWD last night . What aftermarket brand alarm does everyone use? I am in Bay Area (Oakland), CA. ANyone have any recommendations for a good place to have an alarm install. It would also be nice if you can include the price you pay including labor.

Can we install aftermarket alarm too our IS? Maybe off the topic I would like to know can we install Turbo Timer (for NA engine) to our IS? Since the IS don't let us lock it without turning off the engine...

For me, the stock alarm is enough. The only thing I added to it is a glass sensor. It's only $90 installed.

there is an aftermarket alarm module which can be controlled with your keyless entry system. It is made by Automate (DEI).

This alarm is controlled by the LOCK/UNLOCK pulse signal from your keyless entry system, that means no need for additional remotes. OEM remotes will control this alarm.

This alarm has a siren so it will output to a siren when it is triggered. It has impact sensor as well.

Flipsonic, when you added your glass sensor was it from the dealer or an outside installer? I'm very interested in this too.

The best way to add those additional sensors, you should use that Automate DEI part...

You can add glass breakage and proximity sensor (motion sensor).

The proximity sensor is dual zone. 1st zone will chirp. 2nd zone will go off full alert.

I went to an alarm shop up here in NorCal (Custom Car Alarms in Pleasant Hill, CA). They connected the glass sensor to the alarm trigger in the door. I forgot the brand but I'm sure any alarm shop has a glass sensor. Mine works flawlessly. I got it because the stock alarm does not have a glass sensor.

The reason why I didn't add a proximity sensor is because I have a friend that has it on his Mercedes and people play with his alarm all the time. It was more a magnet than a deterent.

You can buy the sensors online... via ebay.

First you will need the automate alarm brain module ($60-70 or so). it contains the following:
Siren
Shock Sensor
Brain
Harness

Then you will need the 2 additional sensors.

1. Proximity Sensor ($35.00 or so)
2. Glass breakage Sensor ($35.00 or so)

Regarding the proximity sensor.. Ive had it on my old car. It really depends on how you set it.

I usually set mine as the following:

Zone 1 - when someone leans on the car, it will chirp four times to warn them away.

Zone 2 - when someone reaches their hand into the car via window/sunroof, it will alarm full sound.

oh yeah... these are all DEI products... please stick to the OEM DEI parts for it to function properly.

DEI are the manufactures for Viper, Clifford, Automate, Python, Valet.. etc etc.. and also PPI, Orion, etc
