To take it one step further to help another member out There are a lot of threads about foglights, here is an easy way to narrow the search a bit
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...light=foglight
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...light=foglight
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ighlight=xenon
For later when you get them
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...light=foglight
- Go to advanced search
- Put 'Foglight' in the keyword text search box may also want to try other options like 'xenon' and other keywords
- Then right under that select the 'search thread titles only' option
- and on the right side select the 'IS Second Generation' forum to further refine the results.

thank you for pulling that. Darn, it doesnt say how hard it was to put in. I suppose I could just aftermarket a HID kit to the stock ones..

I think they have to be good because they use projectors, which should make them better than our reflectors. They do cost a bunch, I think they go for about $1,500.00 if I'm not mistaken. The fact of the matter (to me anyways) is why spend all that $$$$ when you can get a set of HIDs for your reflector foglights for $200.00 and have HIDs without having to break your piggy bank

I have HID Fogs.... I tried to match up my HID Fogs as close to the OEM JDM HID Option as possible.
The OEM JDM HID Fogs use Matsu****a D2R/D2S Ballast... so that is what i used Infiniti/Nissan Matsu****a Ballast.
The OEM JDM HID Fogs use Philips D2S or D2R Bulbs..... so that is what i used Philips 85122+ rebase 9006.
My total HID Kit with OEM Quality cost me about $250.00.

...and its always smart to install 9006 shield, no more glare for oncoming traffic. search the biggest online marketplace for "h4 adapter" and you will know what I mean. This shield makes that distinct cut-off line common in HID headlights.

I do not think such "shield" exist for 9006 and other halogen applications. Only shield is for the H4.. and that just prevents the light to be shined on the high beam area on the reflector.
You can install D2R type HID bulbs.. but i doubt it will help.
The only solution is this:
Cut open your foglamps... paint the areas that beam above the cut off to reduce glare.. and that i believe is the ONLY method... unless you retrofit projectors into the fog.

Fog lights should never blind anyone no matter how bright they are, provided they are aimed properly. Fog lights are supposed to be aimed downward, at the ground. If you do get some HID fogs, please make sure you have them aimed properly - you don't want to cause any accidents...

Of course they have to be re-aimed.. but there is no way to reduce the glare by a straight swap.
Aiming them downward will just aim some of the glare onto the ground. the glare that beams upwards into the sky (which is most dangerous) cannot be eliminated by simple adjustment.

I agree, but I was referring to the glare produced by improperly aimed fogs. All lights produce glare - that's why they are lights. Unfortuntely, many people don't bother to properly aim their fogs after they swap them. If properly aimed, the glare produced by fog lights should be a non-factor.
