I have heard (sounds silly) large metal straps (like on intake piping kits) that would strap the TPMS to the inner wheel. A wheels shop where i live is experinenting with this, since the TPMS is actually a good idea to have on lower profile cars. I would want to know that my high priced rims are not running on underinflated tires......
I have heard of people also using heavy duty 3m adhesive to mount the sensor to the inside of the rim........

yea you can do that but if it comes loose (like if you hit a bump as high speeds on the right spot, etc) it could come loose and that would be quite bad.
better to just regularly check pressure

The TPMS won't work, from what I understand, in the standard valve stem of most 2 and 3 piece wheels, because of an inherent property of how they are manufactured. You can drill another valve stem hole in another part of the lip, and just use the standard valve stem to adjust pressure, though.
I agree that TPMS are a good idea, not to ensure your tires are properly inflated (since the Lexus OEM models don't notice less than about a 6psi difference), but to notify drivers of problems like slow leaks or extremely low pressure.
