Just like the title says, I'm trying to see what you guys think about gold color rims on a Smoke Granite IS..
HEre's a pic of 'revspeed's' pic(hope he doesn't mind posting his pic) on his silver color IS.

I'm also looking to get a set of Volk GTC wheels for my IS, but not sure how gold color wheels would look on smoke color IS.

I think it would look good, but most people here are going to tell you that it's "rice" or that it will look terrible.

I think it will dominate the car a bit too much, but then again, the IS-F test mule has gold rims, and it definately catches your attention.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. However, you have to decide for yourself...

I suspect that the gold rims on the IS-F test mule are too help disguise the car, not an indication that the final product will be so equipped.

It is your car so you do as you please but in my opinion gold rims only look rood on red or black cars. Because of the dark grey appearance of the SGM I believe the rims will look out of place. I would suggest going to a wheel dealer and have them set a gold rim up next to your car on a box or something so it is level with the car so you can see if YOU like it. IF it is what you want then go for it!

it depends..those volk gt-c's just scream, "Look at me, I'm a race car..or would like to appear as being one." IMO, the volks make too much of a statment for a simple, yet elegantly styled vehicle such as the IS. If you can find gold wheels with a much simpler design, and doesn't take so much attention away from the car..then by all means gold wheels are the ishhh son. Very 'JDM' looking. Have you seen the Volk TE37's in the dark bronze? That would look pretty decent on the IS if you got it in a 19" diameter.
