Lights on auto

I agree, and would take it one step further: New Jersey is just one of many states that has a "wipers on - lights on" law that requires the driver to turn on the headlights when the wipers are operating. It would be nice if there was a dealer settable option for those states that would automatically turn on the headlights whenever the wipers are on.

California has the same law, and I agree, it would be nice to be able to interlink them (as an option) but I'd still have to turn on my lights because I usually depend on Rain-X unless the rain is so light that the water won't bead off.

Especially since you wouldn't want the lights to come on when you are washing the windshield on a sunny day, or when the wipers take a quick swipe because you drove past a poorly aimed lawn sprinkler. You'd need some kind of logic that would delay lighting the headlamps until the wipers had been running for about 10-15 seconds.

As for me, I usually leave my headlights on auto. There's only one tunnel in this area (which I never pass thru) and I usually don't go places that have a parking garage so the lights turning on and off isn't really an issue.

What kind of bulbs do you have? I had a set of Silverstars in my old Integra and one of them lasted maybe a year before it burnt out. Supposedly these kind of bulbs burn a lot hotter than regular bulbs hence the shorter life span.
