Haha. I'd like to know where you buy your cars that you can just go "return it". Plus the 335i is not a "bang for the buck" type vehicle at all... All speculation of course, but I don't think the fastest and most expensive 3-series ever would be considered "bang for the buck"...

for me the IS is no longer an option..
It's either the 335i or G35.. but I am lean toward the 335i unless I get a really good deal on the G35..

What did it for you? The sweet neon loaner cars or how they talk down to you as if only "special" people can afford their cars when you are looking at them for potential purchase.

Honestly though, what were your deciding factors?

300hp with twin turbo?? Is this all they can get out of it? man I was expecting to see numbers like 375 or at least closer to 350.
I've seen some pictures and I don't like it. What's the deal with that third fog light on the bottom grill?

Car looks awesome in person IMO.

300 hp is way under tuned. One company has the thing up to 375 hp w/ a ecu change, and are working on the 400hp version.

They can push more out of the car, but the idea wasn't to push as much power as possible. They'll run into reliability and gas mileage problem. And most likely insurance will skyrocket. The turbo was meant to push more power without having to increase displacement, hence why the 335i has a 3.0L engine. The torque of the 3.0L turbo engine also starts very early, unlike an NA engine where it may not develop its peak torque until pass 3.5k RPM.

Factory turboed cars are generally very easy to extract more power. The ECU already understands boost so tweaking it can yield even more power.

Correct. We will find out soon what Hartge and Dinan can do with them.

im a young guy who plans on keeping the is350 for awhile and the 335i is out of my price range. the IS350 is more than enough HP for me and i prefer luxury over sportiness. Im a tech geek and the IS has more gadetry than the 335i. Though I'll prolly get a m5 in the near future when i can afford it as soon as i start making the big bux.

The 335i in Blk/Blk, manual, and those stock 19's is a lucious combo; however, that is my inner child/Alpha male logic.

With a wife and kid's, there is no way I could swing some of the things that come to my mind. This IS was the most sensible/practical choice, for me, no matter how much the BMW calls. IMO, it's just not going to be anywhere near as practical or realiable as the Lexus. And BMW service blows (no pun intended)! Yes, I have owned BMW in the past.

let me clarify bang for buck... it's not bang for buck off the bad.. but turbo cars in general have a crap load more potential to get power. Exhaust should yield atleast 30whp... ecu .. tuning will all give it nice power.... i'm pretty sure the cooling system is pretty optimized, but if it's upgrade that would also give it more power.

Sorry .. i wasn't thinking of stock... also.. do you really think they'd push a car out to have that much hp difference to the m3. I would be pretty embarrassing gettin in your m3 (even though it hands down it handles better) .
For me... the BMW would be a lease car... not a purchase... right after the warranty and everythin expires.. i'd return it... my friend and i were discussing it... years down the line that thing will be expensive to fix... and is350 is a purchase.. not a lease~

I'm surprised it's not higher... I mean, the 335i is a brand new model, it's like asking "Do you want your current car, which came out almost 2 years ago, or a brand new design, fresh 2007 twin-turbo bmw?"

I would have thought at least 50% would have said yes... Seems the IS is pretty solid...

btw... our torque level really doesn't compare to 335 stock to stock.... i'm more of a torque person than HP...
