Not wanting another turbo car for some time, unless its truely special, no I wouldn't go for a 335i. Granted it will have a 4-door version, but for the time being the IS350 delivers what I want/need in a vehicle. Luxury > performance this time around, with all the inbetween and quality to cap things off. The 335i is an excellent vehicle, but too expensive for what it is, and just not what I'm looking for.

yea.. too many things go run with turbo... i've had three.. more things to worry bout ...

i'd rather have NA than turbo if power was equal

I drove a 335i one week before getting my IS350 and was not impressed.
About the only thing I thought it had going for it was the new body style.

Agree, except point #2 no longer valid since the new motors will be introduced into the 4 dr sedan later this year - which brings up an interesting point, I feel for all the 3 series owners that bought the redesigned 4 door last year (325/330i) only to see both motors replaced within 12 months of intro (328/335i). Talking about significant depreciation hit or technical obsolescence less than 12 months after buying a brand new 40k+ car (ouch) . . .

I guess they are in the same boat as the GS owners. 2006 GS300 now became a more powerful GS350.

As a non IS owner that has an IS350, BMW 328, and a BMW 335 on my short list to replace our RX330 when we sell it I'm still a little up in the air as to which I would get. The 335 Coupe is the car I want. The IS350 is the car I should probably get because of the practicality.

I've owned 2 BMW's and am on my 3rd Lexus (by the way, what's the plural of Lexus?). I'll never buy another BMW, however I can't wait for my 4th Lexus. Enough said.

It is still an option. I am generally a coupe person thus the reason why I'm leaning toward the 335 Coupe. My wife still has a say though If I do have to get a sedan, it probably would be between the 335 Sedan and IS350.

The funny thing is, I was like many who couldn't wait to trade in my BMW for a Lexus a few years back. I swore I'd never own another BMW until the reliability went up. Problem is I miss the feel of driving the BMW and the reliability is bettter than my old E36 so BMW is back on the list

I sold my IS350... but I am buying another one. Right now, I have the cance to buy the 335i. But I am sticking with the IS.

I bought my IS350 in early August, before the 335 coupe was on the street. The performance of the 335 looks great, but in the end there is a lot more to the ownership experience besides straight line speed, or 10/10ths driving. The Lexus package just hit the spot from my perspective. The reliability angle put it over the edge for me. Just heard too many negative things about German cars in general, and BMW doesn't escape the German 'problem' it seems. I saw a white 335 last week at the local dealer and it did nothing for me.....the coupe reminded me of a 90's Nissan. I could have waited for the sedan version later this year, but put a 330i sedan next to an IS sedan and the BMW comes across as frumpy, imo.

I'm happy with my IS and wouldn't change.

If I have the money and IS350 is avaliable in my area I would choose the IS350 since I like the design of the NEW IS... performance wise I will choose the 335i since it got twin turbo on it however the design I might need sometimes to start loving it...

If the 335i and the IS350 were the same price I'd probably choose
the 335i just strickly for the performance, But I def. would not
pay almost 10 g's more for it...

I'd absolutely get the 335i over the IS350 if it were a lease and if the 335i were offered for the same or less lease price than the IS350. Why? Because Lexus reliability goes out the window when it's a lease - who cares? I'll beat the **** out of it for 24 months and move on. I don't care about a little glitch here or there or if the turbos blow up at 60k miles or whatever else I would normally care about if I bought it.

And last I checked I could lease a 335i for 24 months for $529/month w/ about zero down. And that's less than I've ever seen the IS go for.

Same reason I went with my A4, really... 389 month including taxes, 15k miles a year, zero down, all maintenance, and only a 24 month lease. I would have paid 50% more to lease an IS250 and it wouldn't have been as fun to beat on, either.

It is also interesting that many of the 335i voters (such as yourself) do not even have an IS350 and are skewing the results of the poll .

I count at least six of those that voted for the 335i (established members that I know for certain do not have an IS350 unless they've never posted about it and their profiles do not reflect it) that should have selected the 'third option'. This poll is clearly for current IS350 owners who would select differently.

The 335i appears to be a fine car with impressive performance. I'd personally wait and see longer term reliability on this model before I would throw it in the hat with the IS350 (or even the 330i) unless I was leasing short term.
