Just tell me what u prefer when u drive a car? Answer me that in terms of luxury speed handling and then i will tell u exactly which one u will like more. Lol

i think you will have better answers if you go to a forum that has no relation to the two cars you are buying because we will be biased. the new 335i coupe looks tight though haha

ummm... its a tough one.. they both look great, yes. performance is both fantastic, yes. reliability isn't a issue because they are both brand new. What i would do is drive both. Buy what appeals to you. I personally find the interior of the Lexus much nicer, and the exterior more sporty. But the beemer is tough looking with the duals coming out the back and the numerous kinds of wheels you can choose from is great on the beemer. Idk take them out and you should know. But if my opinion matters get the Lex, Ladys love them!

Default So, you had a hardtop convertible...

Considering that you had an SLK 320, you probably want a bit more performance.

But the problem is that the IS and the 3-Series have comparable performance. Sure, most will say the Bimmer has more performance capabilities, but the IS will still be enjoyable, especially when modded accordingly.

Are you looking for a manual tranny? Would you prefer a coupe or sedan? The 3-Series now has a coupe and convertible version; similar to your SLK.

Do you want something similar to what you had? Or do you want something completely different?

I think the 335i sedan is ugly. I do like the coupe or convertible version a lot more.

For coupe/convertible versions with 6 speed manual, I would pick 335i over IS350 sedan.

IS350 may not handle like a 335 can but it is a better overall car in the many other aspects of a car besides handling, it depends how high you value handling over other things. Not saying the IS handles bad it handles great actually.

IMO I think the 335 sedan is nicer than the 335 coupe, rear end and side proportions kill me on the coupe

The E92 look fantastic.

I'd get E92 > 2IS > E90.

By the way, other than money being an issue, will your next car be leased or purchased?

That may also significantly determine which you should get...

also depends how long you going to own the car. Lexus is famous for reliability. I dont think BMW even offers the long extended warranties that Lexus provides as options.

He said SLK32, not 320.

If you liked the old AMG SLK and have the money I'd go for the SLK55. That thing is a monster of a car... not the same type of car as IS or 335i I realize but if you had the old SLK then maybe the new one will work for you.

I hate the BMW navigation system (I-drive is crap). The BMWs are much sexier than the IS (imho), but for me, the combination of performance and technology of the Lexus is vastly superior. I would not have been happy with the BMW (or the other cars that i considered before making my IS purchase a couple of months ago).

Whoa, be careful. Reliability is already an issue on the 335i with oil cooling and fuel pump problems cropping up. The BMW's are never as reliable as a Lexus, and even though they might be under warranty you may just end up with your new Bimmer sitting in the shop waiting for parts.
