Couple of important questions - Does rear legroom matter much? Do you absolutely need a fold down rear seat? If so, the BMW is the right choice for you. The BMW turbo motor is also much more responsive to mods. The other factors are mostly subjective.

Kudos to you!

Most pictures I've seen of a BMW were in the shop environment. You've managed to get a few photos of one outside the shop.

Easy choice if money is not an issure. 335i all the way.

If money IS a issue than I would pick the IS350.

There isnt too much of a price difference between the 350 and the 335i.

But I'll still get the IS350 even if its more expensive than the 335i

Money is no option for me... I picked the IS350 mainly for the smoother ride and more modern electronics (better nav, etc...)

if you wanted to build a 335 with similar options as my IS, the MSRP is around 47k, my IS MSRP was 40k and I got it for a good deal less than 40.

hasn't this topic been beaten to death w/ countless threads/replies??? really useless

no debate about it, ISx50 hands down..lexus wins in every categoy..no questions!

if u want an overpriced, 70ish interior, ugly and long looking exterior styling, unreliable, overpriced maintenace, same car as your neighbor and in every block, then get the bmw.

LOL. I'm all for defending one's ride but we got a bunch of haters in here.

But then again, each respective forum seems to have them.

Um the 2IS is pretty popular as well.

Between these two I'd get BMW.

I hear about "better nav" all the time. I have experience with both of them and I actually prefer the BMW Nav. I will take I-Drive without a crippled NAV anyday. Plus the BMW has Real Time Traffic.

I agree about the crippled nav, I would not have bought the IS350 if I didn't confirm 100% before buying it that I could completely uncripple it... My nav is 100% fully functioning while moving, I did the hack the same day I bought the Lexus... That includes watching DVD movies too, something german cars can only dream about doing...

That being said, I would have, and will buy in the future, a MB or BMW in a heartbeat if there is no nav hack available on a Lexus... I will miss the touchscreen, but hopefully by then the germans will have finally adopted that bit of technology...

Real time traffic is useless in the Washington DC area... Maybe it's better in other parts of the USA...

Idrive is terrible... Touchscreen is infinitely better...

My fiance doesn't mind my I-Drive at all. She is quite familar with the IS nav, since she has an IS250. I think the latest program updates made the I-Drive much faster to use.

You're right about DVD movies though, we need an aftermarket unit for that to work. Not a big deal IMO, but to each his own. I just wish the 07 Nav hack was as easy as the 06. BTW, I need a fold down rear seat since our other car is a Lexus..
