My goodness, again? Can't we agree both are great cars and if you own either, you are luckier than most people.

I think the 335 is a great car but I've been very happy with my Lexus experience and I would give up a little performance to know my car is going to start everyday. I also like the IS's looks better.

Thing about these reviews, they dont do a side by side 40kmi comparison with maintainance costs/repair costs. Also, of course the 335i is gonna do better, they scrapped the 330i after what ONE yr??? rofl.

Just remember thou, a Lexus is NOT a BMW wannabe, its a totally different car with a different mindset.

Side by side, both stock versions are fast.

Is one significantly faster than the other? No.

Straight line acceleration is also much different than cornering speed and response, but this is mostly driver dependent...

wow. not another one of these questions. use the search next time bud. theres plenty of threads on this topic.

but to anwser ur question. No it wouldnt blow the is away from the start. lol it would be a close race. although the 335i might be alittle faster than the is350. pretty much a drivers race stock for stock.

u want speed. go for the 335i
u want luxury and reliability go for the is350
both great cars. but the is looks wayyyyyyyyy better in my opinion

unless you live in high altitude like me 6000+ ft. Then the 335i will blow the IS350 away.

Faster... speed isnt everything. Your not gonna be driving at 110% 80% of the time.

Both are good cars, really good. You'll just have to test drive both and see what suits you best. I kinda never made it the BMW stealership 1block away... damm lexus stealership cast buyme-no-jitsu on me... evil evil lexus, so nice and no pressure *course i did have an appointment with a family friend*

It's an American syndrome where 'fastest' means 'how fast' in a 1/4 mile straight line. Which is why we are so enamored with boring racing like NASCAR where jigged up cars go round and round in an oval. ZZZZzzzz....... Real racing takes place on tracks that have curves and some elevation changes that challenge the car and the skill of the driver.

Yes the BMW 335i is slightly faster, but are you really going to notice .4 tenths of a second? With the same driver, side by side the BMW might inch out the IS350. But in everyday driving are you really going to say to yourself "Wow! that .4 tenths of a second sure feels great! Man I am glad I got that extra .4 tenths!" Thats like a blink of an eye.

Both will be about the same straight line performance.
If you want luxury/reliability get the Lexus.
If you want cornering, a manual, a coupe, or a convertible get the 335
The 335i was a lot more expensive (like 10grand) since i was buying used so it drove me toward the IS. Also i really dont like the interior of the BMW, it doesnt look like a luxury car to me, well luxury yes, but it looks like an after thought, the lexus flows so well. I parked next to a 335 sedan today and it DOES NOT look as good as the lexus from the side or the back. I like the front of both. Lastly, one good thing about the 335i is that it is A LOT more modable than the IS350. So if you plan on modding get the 335i.
Personally i would take either one, and at times i would rather have the 335 it is more rare than the 350 right now, but when i think about all the things i like about the lexus i end up happy.
