I'm an IS fanboy as much as anyone in here but let's face reality here guys, the IS350 can't win against the 335I stock for stock.
Hit the nail on the head.

There do seem to be fewer pissing contests on CL than other car forums, so I suppose we can suffer the odd few.....still....doesn't it seem like your time could be better spent?

Wait... ppl seem to think that everyone who drives a 335i MT is John Force or M.Shumacher... Average driver in a IS350 will beat a average driver in a 335i most of the time.

Well technically the car is released in Europe. So yes, production models are out. Sorry for the confusion if he was comparing it to the old E46 M3. You will see it in dealers in a few weeks here in the states.

I'm not doubting you have never lost to one, but that doesn't mean an IS350 is faster. Most IS350 aren't running 13.2
Depends which M3 you're talking about. I've raced three E46 M3's, both from a dig and at freeway speeds. EVERY TIME I've won. Now the E92 M3, on the other hand...

By the way, AWESOME TIMES Troy!!!

Nice run, and i am happy to see a 350 beat a 335i, but in most situations the 335i will beat the IS350... The IS350 is still fast as hell though.

You guys can answer your own question about which m3 i am talking about.. I mean think about it OC335i. You are putting up stats for a car that is not even in the states yet, that is a v8. You need to compared apples to apples. put that with the isf and you have a fair comparison. There were two keys to this post. 1 was me letting other is owners know that we can run pretty damn fast. 2. was that when running against a car in the same class (for the most part at about 8k for the 335i). we can hold our own.

yes you can put a proceed chip for 2k and get 60hp. We don't have that option. With what little options we have this is what we can do. And some better than me, RoRo and Gernby.

obviously if i am racing them with my car both stock is and my exhaust is i am talking about the e46.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I'll post up another drag thread in feb. when they have the track back open and its nice and cool out. I ran again today but best was 13.34. I went to the import challenge and entered the bracket race, and made it past one round dialing in at 13.3. Next run I got held up at the start because they thought the other racer was wrong. Sat there for about 2 min and i think my tires cooled down or something. I did just a normal launch (not even reall brake torquing ) and freaking spun them like a sumbish. I had like a 2.3 something 60'. it was a horrible run, so i was elminated. I am hoping the other lexus sc400 made it past. I left after that last race with my tail between my legs.

I think we all agree the IS is a quick car. The very first time I ran one it ran a 13.5 which surprised the heck out of me. That was in my G35, he took me by 4 tenths.

Very nice runs Troy! The DA for the day was actually even worse than you posted as the track elevation there is just over 500ft, not 400. Your DA was 926ft for the day and you still hit a 13.2, which is very impressive. I updated my drag strip journal in my signature. Basically it appears that the Borla is really helping you whether you believe it or not. My local buddy with his borla put down quite a bit more power than me on the dyno, esp his tq in the lower rpms. Yes again I know I am comparing one 350 to another, but it was significant enough power differences to tell me that Borla makes the power, no matter how crappy the fitment is. The reason your trap speeds are lower is because of the head wind as your 1/8 et and mph both improved. You are definitely not making less power than before and the launch didn't really help with your times as much as you think they did, but dang what a great 60' on stock tires.
