the numbers are pretty close between the 2 cars, a lot depends on the driver. go test drive one and see for yourself if it feels faster.

my brother is going to get the 335i... might ask to trade if it entertains me enough...the lexus' steering response is just too dull =(... if it wasnt for that it would be quite entertaining well and if u could completely turn off vdim

oh ohh... 335i vs 350 thread... cops will be surfing here so lets not let this thread get out of hand.

Heres the deal, both cars are very evenly matched, its a race where its up to the BMW driver to win or lose. Thing is thou, according to the BMW forums, it appears that if you buy the 335i you've also bought the skills of John Force and M. Shumacher THEREFORE once the BMW fanboiz find this thread, it will become a flame war.

It takes a great driver in a 335i to beat a mediocre driver in a 350 in a straight line. This is stock vs stock were talking about now.

Truer words were never written. Keep it civil and mature, and we can have (yet another) 335i vs IS350 discussion.

Track race, BMW 335i takes the win with ease
Drag race, Lexus IS350 takes the win

Stock in both circumstances of course.

Hehe actually not for us (350) owners. We KNOW a 335i is a great car its just that when a is350 does happen to beat a 335i, the BMW fanboiz come storming in here to make drama and us Lexus fanboiz wont take it lying down

that is what is annoying! everytime a bmw gets beat the bmw freaks start screaming about what an idiot the driver was. i like bmw, i read a lot of lexus owners who give props to bmw, i don't hear the bmw fanboys saying anything other than rice, crap, no handling, blah blah. they can't say anything nice!

I'm a lexus guy but i hate blind brand loyalty. The 335i is a phenomenal car. It has unmatched road feel precision handling. The TT 3L is a rocket. Stock to stock the cars are very similar for acceleration numbers. But when it comes to aftermarket i'll be the first to admit the BMW owns the IS350 in every way. We can't even get a decent set of headers. the 335 is F/I which gives it endless tuning possibilities with easy hp gains. So the potential is much greater. Other than that its really a matter of what you are looking for in a car (looks, luxury, reliability, handling, tunability, etc etc).

IF your into hp that is because there is still another path to take. While the is350 isn't a vip platform, a vip style is350 would look way better than a vip style 335i.

I could not have said this any better. I am one of the 4 video's you saw. llamboiz said it perfect.

no matter what bmw fanboy tells you, the cars are evenly matched. On a track the bmw guys will say it's better. Lexus isn't known for their closed track use, but that is not saying they don't handle. On the drag strip i give the is350 the edge because of the NA raw dog power off the line and up till right at the 1/4 mile mark. Around there the bmw's should gain back a little at that point, but heck you are going 105+ right there.

also, llamboiz is soooo correct in saying it's the driver. In the lexus you mash the gas and go. In the bmw, it ALWAYS AND I REPEAT ALWAYS , DID I SAY ALWAYS..ALWAYS seems to be a "bad" driver. Every time you see an is350 beating an m3/335i over and over and over every blames the bmw driver for not being John Force. And to that I say the lexus wins. Both cars stock are 306hp, and the bmw weighs more if i am correct on that?

anyways I can't believe i responded to this thread, but it's because i am one of the video's. Both are dope cars and both are fast. I personally think lexus fanboys are a bit more realistic than bmw fanboys.

peace,

comb

I had a 335i over night and was going into sign the papers the next day when my lexus sales guy called and had me come test drive the lexus before i made the bmw purchase. The lexus won me over with interior. Also, I live in dallas and bmw's are cars for the $30k millionaires (google it). both ride excellent, bmw is a tad more "stiff". Bmw is about 5k more. The major pro to the bmw is that it's tunable a lot more since it's a turbo. So if you think you are going to want more speed later down the road go with the 335i.
