I keep a weapon handy for if its chipped.. they usually make a quick turn to get away so i consider that a win for me..

If the 335i had been out when I got my IS350, there would be no doubt I'd be in the bimmer. The IS350 is no slouch, but the mod potential of a twin turbo.......

The VDIM is a system that links all the nannies and allows them to play nice together. The defeat switch does indeed disable the traction control and the stability control. These are the two main limiting systems that hinder better drag launches and handling. The VDIM is still working with the remaining systems. As a matter of fact the IS250 RWD out handled the mighty 335. The big advantage is BMW FEELS better! What separates these vehicles, on the street, is the DRIVER.

+1. There is no doubt that BMW feels better. I sincerely hope that this is something Lexus can correct, perhaps on the 3IS with a sport or other special package.

Default Hellooooo Dinan...

I think this comparision just ended. Now you can have your completely stock-looking 335i putting down 421 lb/ft of torque, all from a mere software upgrade that retains the factory new car warranty . I know one thing - my days of racing 335's have ended.

Now if only they offered an extended warranty past the 4 year 50k. Like anything there is fine print:

"The engine block on the 335i may not be torsionally rigid enough to handle the torque load, causing premature crankshaft failures. Studies are currently in effect to find any weak point in the block and may include block modifications to make it more rigid for the future higher power applications."

From what I've been hearing, chipping or modding the 335 in any way to get over about 400 peak hp causes things to start breaking pretty quickly.

... I'd rather get a Supra.

Those power estimates are probably at the crank, not the wheels.

...and??? Those numbers are still mighty impressive, even if they are at the crank.
