QUESTION: What made You buy the IS250 or IS350 or the 3 Series BMW?
Simple question, maybe not such a simple answer? I just test drove the BMW 328xi (all wheel drive) automatic sedan, it was great and I am also considering the 335i, I unfortunately have not had time to test drive the Lexus yet, although I plan on doing so. I test drove the Audi A4 2.0t quattro and ruled it out. Just curious as to why you went with what you did, either with the IS250 or IS350. I have not decided if I would get the 250 or 350, I know I would prefer the 350 and all wheel drive is not essential. Just as a side note, does anyone have the IS350 rear wheel drive sedan in a cold snowy climate? How does it do with snow tires? I know the rear wheel drive BMW's with proper snow tires perform very well, I currently own one, a 95 5 Series.
Would appreciate as much insight as I can get from this forum about the positive and negative attributes about the IS compared to the BMW 3 series. Good & Bad, would you make the same choice again? I think from dimensions they appear to be very similar in size.
Thanks for your help!

lexus is350 interior is better and 10k less than the 335i.. head of over heatin problems wit the 335i that why i went with the is350. i believe it was top gear. or edmunds doing a longevity test and had to cut it short cuz the engine was over heating in the 335i ...Just all depends on what u want honestly ...
you want more luxury and longevity = lexus
more performance and upgrades= 335i with www.vishnutuning.com chips

thanks for your responses. I actually wasn't comparing the 335i coupe, I was saying the sedan (4 doors) for everything. I am not interested in a coupe. So the IS350 is more comparable to the 335i, I assume, right?

Does Lexus have better resale value than BMW? Reliability you are probably right about, does the IS 250 and IS 350 have the same reliability as the other Lexus models, like the LS and ES? Is the IS 250 as reliable as the 350? Any issues?

Loved the look on both cars, but mainly got a Lexus because it was more affordable then a 335i where it would be in the 40's. I couldnt get a car that cost more then my parents The interior of the IS was way nicer then the 3 series and mainly it came down to the brand and reliability of toyota.
at the moment though: i would love to a Bimmer

Is the IS smaller than the 3 Series or same size?

The interior of the BMW is not that great.. The leather isnt as nice too, the lexus leather is softer and feels more luxury where as the bmw feels more like hard leather. But in my book BMW is not really aiming for the luxury customer, its more sporty. Dont forget with lexus you get a lot of standard equipment(keyless entry etc) and to get that in the 3 series you would have to get comfort access which i hear is hard to find on a lot.
This is the IS-F but its basically the same thing(except white CF/a bit different tach)
