I know this is premature to ask (forgive me ). The car’s specifications have not been officially released and this type of question/poll should be asked when Lexus starts showing off this beast in car shows across the nation. But I can't help it. I have been drooling over seeing this thing in person and been itching to test drive one ever since the rumors started. I want to know how many other people feel the same way. I am considering putting a deposit on one the moment they officially announce it.

No.

I can think of many other alternatives for a performance sedan at that price.

No.

I find the 350 to have plenty of spunk for me.

The IS-F is great. But the insurance premium will kill me. All that power: not a necessity, especially when stuck in L.A. traffic.

But I know a lot of fan-boys will be more than happy to have one...

+1 The IS-F would have to gain about 1-2 feet in length. I have no desire for a V8 in such a small car. The IS350 has more than enough HP.

Besides, I am not sure why I would opt for an IS-F over a GS460.

I'm gonna save my pennies and keep my IS350 around for a while... I may eventually get the IS-F, but I definatly will not be one of the first ones to jump on it.

I wouldn't mind getting one but I have to stop wasting money on cars, I need to learn how to stop buying a new car every 6 months. As for the price, their are a few other cars I would want at that price that throws a wrench in making a decision on that car.

Yes I plan to. Unless there is something that I find totally not ok about IS-F, I will probably special order and wait to receive until Spring 2008. Already planning out the purchase.

Edit: depending on the model year of the first production and the special-order wait, I may consider waiting until the next model year.

The answer, "No, I need to drive it in the winter" should be added to the poll. That's the reason I didn't wait.

I'll be selling my IS350 when the IS-F is released. I wanted to add a supercharger to my IS350 so i'll just save that money for the IS-F. I told my wife how much is was going to be compared to just buying the IS-F and she agreed. Of course i made my story very simple and clear. $9000 for supercharger for IS350 for 350-375 RWHP or.... Clear title of the IS350 plus $9000 for a down payment for the IS-F. That should be a really good down payment for the IS-F.

Just curious, why would you choose an IS-F over a GS 460?

I don't want to speak for Tony59blue, but my answer would be that when I test drove the GS, it handled like a much bigger car and was less fun to drive.

If I have enough money.. maybe. Like L.A. traffic, D.C. traffic kills the fun in any car. But it would be nice...in the mean time I can just dream about it.

Two totally different cars. First off, the IS-F will be much faster and more powerfull than the GS460. It will also handle loads better. The GS is simply not a sports car in any sense of the word. As mentioned above, it isn't a "fun" car to drive. That's not to say the IS is the "better" car, but it is a completely different animal, those considering an IS-F are not going to look twice at a GS and vice versa. I had high opes for the GS450h, but after driving one at Taste of Lexus, I was quite dissappointed. It road like a very very nice Buick.
