Default Are chrome wheels difficult to maintain?

Anyone have any experience with this? Is it true they're a lot of work to keep clean? What about polished black wheels?

I like chrome it's so easy to maintain. I just put water and dry them that's it. I used to have polished aluminum and i would have to polish them every month or so to remove water spots. It would take me about 30-45 minutes per wheel, now that was work.

Ours aren't difficult to maintain. Then again, I don't spend hours fussing over how well they shine, nor worry about waterspots. Wash 'em like any other wheel, and be done with it.

I had the original IS350 wheels (06) chromed. They are a breeze to care for. I do however put on a high quality paste wax twice a year. Overkill perhaps but they do stay looking great with a minimal of effort.

Thanks for the feedback.

Anyone know about polished black rims?

Chrome is hard to maintain, mainly because youre going to want them to stay shiny. The smallest speckly of dirt and you'll want to whip out the falken wheel care kit.

My 06 stock chromed wheels are very easy to wipe dry after washing, and the best part is that they don't hold the brake dust as well as painted ones, so they stay clean longer. They take about 1 minute per wheel to clean!

Chrome is very very easy to maintain in my opinion vs. any wheel that is polished or has polish on it. My brother has chrome rims on his M3 and it looks so much better than my other brothers polished rims on his g35.

every month we need to repolish his wheels and keep them looking nice vs. the chrome you never have to do any of that non sense.

Chrome is much easier to maintain that polished/anodized aluminum. They are also far more durable and resistant to corrosives.

Hi, I have ordered a set of ISP Mode chromed wheels and waiting for them to arrive. In the mean time, I was looking for chrome car products. Which paste do you use?

There's also a Mother's chrome car product..any good?
