Default Got rear ended. Anyone else?

My 3 week old IS250 AWD got rear ended last night. The bumper fell off. The trunk was a bit crushed. Left rear door dented. And the panels around the rear doors were warped. The insurance adjuster hasn't taken a look at it yet, so I don't know the details of the damage.

Just wondering if anyone else got rear ended? How bad was the damage? How long did it take them to fix? How well was it fixed?

I was doing about 40 on the highway. I had actually slowed down for an accident ahead of me. Just like everyone else around me. The police and fire trucks were already at the scene. Then I think somehow 2 cars behind me crashed into each other and then into me. They must have been doing about 50 or 60mph at least. It was only a 2 lane highway and the left lane was blocked by the first accident.

Be sure to get extra $$ from the guy's insurance company or consider a civil suit. Now, thanks to CarFax, if you take your car to an authotized repair shop, it will get reported. That impacts your trade-in and resale value.

So it isn't just about getting your car fixed, its about compensating you for the loss of value when you sell your car or trade it in.

some states dont have any regulation on the loss of value claims. So, its mostly up to the insurance companies involved. Now, in the other states, you could actually get some level of compensation if the insurance adjuster do claim that the accident does affect the value of your vehicle and will 'compensate' you for that if you file for this claim.

Actually, this is called diminished value. some links to check out.

some? i think its most. my car got rear ended less than 12 hours after pick up. beat that! although it was just a two inch wide dent in the rear bumper, his front bumper fell off front totaled as well as his rear and the car behind him.

since then its been in 4 minor incidents. none of which my fault. this car is trouble, in so many ways.

Got some pics of the damage. So far, the initial estimate is around $11,000 and 29 business days to repair.

about a month ago, i was helping my brother move all of his stuff beacuse he was moving out of his apartment. We were on our way to the self storage place and i was leading with my IS since i had GPS, and he was following me with a uhaul. Anyways, so were in the city, and were sitting at a stop sign to merge onto the highway, and i dont know what the hell he was thinking, but he floors the uhaul truck and rear ends the hell outta me. That sucked. 3,000, that he paid for.

I'm taking it to Hoffman Lexus in East Hartford, CT. Anyone have experience with them?

It actually looks worse when the bumper is on the ground. There's actually a rope holding up the bumper in the pic.

I'm not body repair specialist, but 11k sounds like a heck of a lot.
