Yellow stain? WTF is this??

If that were true, every car in New Jersey and Oregon (where there is no self-serve) would have those stains. I'm not sure what it is, but I don't think it is from dribbled gas.
Hard to tell from the picture, but it actually looks like it is from below the clear coat.

Very interesting, my 07 350 had the same stains, except on very top edge the gas tank cover. I noticed them after a few days owning the car. Had the gas cap door repainted by dealer, no argument. They tried buffing, wet sanding to no avail. It was under the clear coat. I don't think it was a gas stain problem and neither did the service guy.

Here's why it's not gas, at least in my case...
I would have had to fill up with gas, replace the gas nozzle in the pump holster, rescrew the gas cap, shut the gas cap door, then pick up the gas nozzle again from holster, and then shake out drops of gas on the outside top edge of the gas cap door. (How else would I spill gas on the outside of the door?) Then the gas would have had to seep through the clear coat without damaging the clear coat and turn the paint a yellowish brown color from tungsten pearl.
The service guy said the stain was not in the clear coat, it was actually in the paint. It was almost like there had been a run in the paint when the car was painted.

I have the same problem. Same spot, but my stain is smaller. If you see the relative location of the stain..you can come to the conclusion that it was caused by gasoline droplets. There have been a few threads started on this in the past. Most people who experienced this problem had it in the same exact location.
