How could it be any faster when nothing was changed that could possibly make it any faster? Maybe the sharkfin gives it an advantage so it can cut through the air better. LOL j/k

How do you know nothing was changed? For one thing, some members have pointed out the suspension may have changed slightly.

ECU timings and the engine tuning may have been changed, and that is not something which would be readily apparent.

Here's a list of everything Lexus thinks is worth mentioning for changes from '06 to '07. The 21st item you can't see is the appendix. Maybe the big difference is they weren't on a slippery surface this time...

The reason for the disparity is probably because with the 2007 you can turn off traction control and computer input with a switch, which they did for this test. The test of the 2006 probably had all that stuff on.

You can turn off TRAC on the '06 with a switch, and it will aid launch control if you want some slip. Good point though, they may have completely ignored it the first time.

Only up until 20 or 25mph though right? Unless you completely disable, which I'm sure no one did, while testing at that point.

If you're slipping after 25 mph, you're on some bad pavement or you're doing an intentional burn out.

Just for fun,

Road and Track tested BMW 335i in this month issue and they could "only" get 5 sec flat for 0-60 time. OH MY GOD, that's like .1 sec SLOWER than IS350 they tested.
