Default Confused about Pricing and Packages!

Hey guys,

I received a couple quotes today on the IS350 with Navigation. One dealer told me that the car does not include the Mark Levison or X-Package so I assume the car only has Nav and the prem package.

I was quoted $43700 OTD for this one and another dealer offered $42300 and I believe it is the same car with the same options. When I went to edmunds.com the invoice price of an IS350 with prem/nav was only $36,600.

With the two respective quotes above the price would effectively be 39300 and 38100 before taxes!...Are these cars still going for $1500-$2000 above invoice? I really need a car soon but don't want to rush into a bad deal.

Dude, the dealer isn't going to quote you invoice. They're going to quote MSRP. I'm sure edmunds.com gives MSRP for you to compare.

I would rather assume that these are thier pleminary quotes to you.. I am sure you can knock it down even more off the MSRP and on top of it you are not special ordering the vehicle. I just got a IS 250 AWD for my wife last saturday, was quoted 36,522 MSRP (This was the PP Package with HID, Heated Seats and Wood Trim) knocked it down to 34,300 OTD including all tax, tags, title, and paperwork fees. Invoice on edmunds was quoted $32K (round figure) but the manager told me that their invoice was $32,500 and I was asking the car for 31,900.. so after hefty talking he said he can prove it me that he actually paid this much for the car and pretty much all dealers would have paid exactly the same $$ the deal was then made at 33K which includes the tire and wheel warranty plus taxas, License and others which came up to 34,300K OTD
(Registered the car with Virginia plates 3% tax).

I know we are talking about 2 different cars here but I am sure some of us here would have got a better deal than me but I did a lot research and I came across a lot of users here disclosing what they paid for a IS350 and it far less than what was quoted to you.. I would got the IS350 if they would have the AWD....

Get more quotes and search this forum for MSRP.. you will get a better idea of what people are being offered..

Hint: Also get a quote from your Insurance company... heard the 350's are pretty high..

Good Luck..n keep us posted
