I have an IS250 AWD and have tried many variations and braking techniques but nothing seems to quite work!!

Has anyone else noticed this?
I haven't heard of this, especially on a 250. Maybe you should go out and do some REALLY hard repetitive high speed breaking sessions to glaze the pads a bit.

yeah I was thinking the same thing.......
I talked to the dealership and was told that it's simply the break in period! I have had the car for 3 months and 5,000km!!
I really pisses me off when I have guests in the car!!!

Im surprised no one else has experienced this

If you were responding to my comment about glazing the pads, that was kind of a joke. Glazed pads aren't a good thing.

I am having the same issue but thought it might take a while before I can get comfortable with the brakes .. but my wife likes it though.. she likes the way the car applies the brake..

Don't worry wasn't exactly thinking of wearing out my pads I was talking about how this isn't a known problem amongst 250's.

sk72: I see you also have AWD, maybe this problem is exclusive to AWD models??
Honestly, I am still not 100% with the brakes and find it somewhat difficult to modulate but noticed by realising brake pressure considerably before the car comes to a hault helps the problem
The car applies the brakes well but I can't seem to get over this problem.

Does your car always come to a jerky stop?

It's not just the AWD - my RWD drive is the same way. I thought it was just me having to transition from what I was used to in my SUV, but 3 weeks later I still haven't adjusted and think it's a fault in the design.

My RWD had the same problem. After a few months, though, it went away. It just takes some time for the brakes to get broken in.

I agree a fault in the design from a stunning package, but you would think Lexus of all manufactors known for their comfortable ride would address this issue
