Default Fog Mod

I guess the search function is not working. Anyways, I recently got my DRL turned off and have been wanting to do the "fog mod" for a while. I had it done on my last IS300 and loved the look. In case you were wondering, the Fogs are basically always on (rewired to the ignition relay). The way it was done on the 1st Gen IS was a basic wiring change. Im hoping someone who is electronically savvy could at least tell me where the fog fuse is located.

Im going to attach the post from the my.is forum (i hope this does not violate any forum policys which i cant imagine it would).
http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t...ht=fog+mod+diy

If anyone could shed some light on this topic, it would be greatly appriciated. All help is necessary; i'd like to attempt to do this this weekend

after i upgraded the lighting (6000k upgrade for the hid lows, and 6000k hid fogs) i just use my lights all the time. but it still would be nice to know how to do it... it could be useful during those really foggy nights that we have here every once in a while...

I own a IS250 and I am able to have the fogs on without having the headlights on.

i'm guessing this is an non-USDM thing. for some reason, it is illegal in the US to have only the fogs on. and this doesn't even seem like a safety issue so i don't get it.

I think there are a few issues at work here.
1) Visibility (oncoming cars). If you watch an oncoming car at night that only has its foglights on, they are nowhere near as visible as a car with its headlights on. The problem is that the foglights are so low to the ground, and the light source is coming from such a small area.
2) Visibility (you). Can your foglights shine as far ahead and to the sides as your headlamps can?
3) Laziness. For some cars (and it always used to be this way) you can turn on just the fog lights, and forget about parking/tail lights. At night, this is obviously a safety issue.

I don't know. I guess I don't see why you'd want to use only your foglights. If its because you feel that it looks cool, I would ask yourself "who's actually going to think it looks cool?" And the overwhelming answer will be "nobody".

first off, i dont really care what other people think.
second, i want to do it because I really enjoy how it looks, and for many other reasons.

Does anyone else have any idea where I could look up the wiring of the fusebox or other electric sources for the car?
Hopefully this could be done!!

I second this mod. Some people are always going to think some things are not good and other good so lets just stick to the question.

How do we get this mod to work? I would like to use the stearing wheel button to turn them on/off when ever I feel like it.

techinfo.lexus.com

$10 for one day and all the wiring diagrams you could want. the Lexus ones are very nice, color coded, and would probably fill up a 2-inch 3 ring binder.
