2008 Infiniti G35 Coupe or Lexus IS 350

Although I'm sure the coupe will look very hot considering last year's NYIAS pics, it will most certainly be another Infiniti that looks great, has great performance at the sacrifice of quality and refinement; like the new G35 sedan - I'll take the IS350 or the BMW 335i Coupe any day over the Infiniti.
I thought Lexus was releasing a coupe version of the ISX50...?

Fellas, we don't even have pics of the production G35c, just a damn sketch.
We don't have any interior or engine specs of the new car.
I can't even begin to compare the two seriously. I did vote Lexus b/c as a brand, its not even a close comparison and I put my faith in a brand that is on top their game.

Funtionally, 4 doors are better (and also less to insure), even through the backseat room is pretty much the same...
Function for function, the IS trumps it.
Power for power, they're pretty much equal (G35 manual with IS350 auto).
Handling, they're pretty much equal (and this is a very subjective matter; for me, they're equal).
Driver feedback, the G35 trumps it.
Quality, the IS trumps it.
Value, the G35 trumps it.
Do you care more about function and quality?
Or do you care more about driver feedback and value?

That's a concept with LED headlights and other cool tech that's not going to be on the production car. So as stated above, you don't know what the ACTUAL car is going to be. Maybe the body changes from the concept, maybe it doesn't. Gotta see the real deal....

The 03 coupe is most likely going to be traded in for an 08 coupe.
I know I"ll be flamed for this, but I LOVE how Infiniti didn't release a castrated version of their G series (ie IS250). All the G series are 350's, keeps the cost of entry and exclusivity up...

I agree with those who have said it’s too early to compare, as no one has seen the ’08 coupe yet, so I didn’t vote. I also agree it’s a bit ludicrous to think we’ll get objective poll results on this question in a Lexus forum. (Perhaps I could initiate the same poll on the Infiniti forum and then average the two results.)
Now I drive a ’04 coupe with the lease up this fall and of course, my wife’s IS250, but I’m waiting until I actually test drive the ’08 coupe before making a decision on my next car.

I have a friend making just above minimum wage driving an IS250... I would have still bought the IS350 had it cost $50k.... Point is, his car looks EXACTLY like my car.

My 03 G35C handles WAY better than my IS350. They're not even in the same ballpark.....

Not in the same ballpark? I'm sure the G35C handles better than the IS350 (not sure if you have sport or luxury), but not THAT much better.
"Exclusivity"? I love the G35 coupe, but they are everywhere. Exclusive is more like a DB Vantage...

I agree with magellan. I started a reply about this last night but we just don't know enough about the '08 to come to any type of conclusion. Having owned 2 g35's before my IS, I can relate my experience with them but it may or it may not be apples and oranges to the '08 (again, because we don't know enough about it.)
What I can relate that may carry over:
1. Warranty and service after the sale: there is no comparison here. Lexus>Infiniti. The difference is night and day. In short, Infiniti works against you. Lexus works with and for you. I had to get the factory service manual and start fixing things myself as the dealership couldn't fix anything.
2. Styling: Coupe>IS. Even the current coupe trumps the IS (and most other cars out there) by a wide margin.
3. Quality of materials/workmanship and features: Lexus>Infiniti by a wide margin. Just little things like the seat warmer actually staying at a constant warm temp. I can drive on a broken gravel road without a single rattle in the IS. Both my G's had multiple constant rattles on a flat highway.
Once you own a G, you'll realize why the price of admission is less than it's competitors.
