Does anyone have any pointers on smoking out the tail lights. I have the vinyl on a roll from Sticker City(15mil) instead of the pre-cut. I found by my last attempt(with pre-cut off of e-bay) that the vinyl has to be heated and stretched ALOT over the odd shaped tails. Anyone done it there self and not through Aerotech?

be careful when you do it. most of the time when ppl do it themselves and dont have any experience doing it, it looks cheap. A friend of mine has a friend that works at a body shop and he does it by using some sort of spray and wet sanding. When its done like that it looks smoooothhh and factory.

Well guys I did my tails this morning in the garage and they look FANTASTIC! Just to let you know the smoke out tint on e-bay is NOT good stuff to use. It is just 3mil. vinyl. I bought a 10 ft. roll of 15mil vinyl tint from Sticker City and it was a world of difference! I recommend not getting it pre-cut as cutting it off of a roll gives you more to work with when heating and stretching.(stretchs up to 15%) . Let it dry for a little bit and gently score the excess off. I will post pictures when the rain passes. It is flooding here today.

I install tail light tint almost everyday, ...as I run my own vinyl shop in Houston. All I have to say is I couldn't agree with you more on the fact that it is much easier to install freehand and stretch/trim than to try and use pre-cut templates. Good for you DIY'ers! Can't wait to see your pics.

i prefer the one on ebay because one of the sellers has precut reverse lights, and that looks so much better. imo.

Well the roll of 10 feet cost me about $80.00 shipped. I didn't need that much but I will be smokin' the LED tails on my Trailblazer SS too. You can cut the reverse lights out if you want like the one on E-bay but the QUALITY is no where near Sticker City or Aerotech! I like the cut outs on the tails better too and I will be trimming mine out as well. It is dry here today but Very messy! I will post pics tonight!
