Default Noob Question about Navi and DVD

Hello.
I have 07 IS250 AWD with premium package with HID lamps with Navi. I have heard that these Navis play DVD, but the one on my car does not play DVD.
I think that it's because my Navi is not ML(Mark Levinson) version?
Is there a way to have it play DVD besides swapping the whole navi unit?

Yes if you get the Mark Levinson system you get a nicer system with 14 speakers throughout the car and you get a Nav that can play DVD's, Mp3's...

If you get the regular system, you can't play DVD's.

It means that ML isn't available in the standard dealer allocations send to your geographic region. It is available if you are willing to special order (and wait four months).

Unless you enjoy watching DVD's while parked in your car I would not worry to much about it. Of course you can do a hack that will open up the ability to watch while the car is in motion, along with some other functions of the Nav itself. The ML system is a better sounding system than stock (to me) and for that reason I went with it. The DVD feature is a joke however. But I knew that going into it. I don't think I would wait 4 months (special order) just for the ML itself.

Question

How much is it more to get the ML?

Or is it included in the navi price?

ANYONE?

If I don't get the ML with the NAV... is it possible to play VIDEOS from IPOD by using the ipod adapter and control the video and audio output from the nav screen???

Can I use ZUNE instead of Ipod? Is there a adapter available for ZUNE that works with the IS250 with navi??

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Any possible way to play DVD or use the navi screen to play playstation by putting input cables somewhere in the back of the navi unit?

People calm down, geezs..

For the video Ipod playing in the Non-ML system, yes it is possible but it hasn't come out yet. I believe Vaistech was making a model for that but it could cost somewhere between 500-700 dollars just for the unit. The other option is to get NAVTV and hook it up. This will create RCA video inputs so you can play videos on your screen. There was a thread on this earlier, do a search for non-ml DVD and you should be able to find it.

+1

I had no plans to watch DVD's or play video games in my car so I went with the standard NAV, plus the base radio sounds wonderful to me.

not to mention the extra $$$$$ of the ML NAV, its significantly more.

If it hasn't come out yet, the correct word to use is impossible or not possible...which is what all these non-ML owners are trying to do when they want to watch DVDs or hook up PSx consoles.
