255s on an 8 inch wide wheel?

Im looking for a set of track wheels and was not sure about this. Is a 255 too big for an 8 wide wheel. Let me know what you guys think maybe an 8.5 is needed.

Tables like this one are really handy for figuring out how much rim you need for what size tire. From this table, the minimum recommended width for 255/-/18 is 8.5", with 9.0" preferred. Tire Rack has these same tables for everything they sell.
