Even with 100hp, its going to be hard to make it a full second faster- The IS350 all ready has a wicked launch- not saying it couldnt be done- but they are going to have to come with some pretty big tires- because traction is going to be an issue when you get that much more power

This is what happens when you add extra bloat to a car that already weights too much. I don't buy into any of the apologist BS for the top 10 reasons why the ISF couldn't/shouldn't/wouldn't be significantly faster off the line than an IS350. If I'm going to shell out the bucks to drive a car that looks that ridiculous, it damn well better blow the doors off the cheaper model from a standstill.

That's what I was wondering too...
1 video doesn't make the 350 a 4.5 second car, especially since we don't even know how they timed it. At any rate, if there is 1 out of thousands of IS350's running that time, there will be 1 out of several IS-F's that run significantly faster than most as well.
You are seriously showing your ignorance if you truely believe that the IS-F is going to be slower than the 350... Let me guess, you also go around telling your friends your IS350 does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.

By the time the engine "take a dump" there will be lots of other great choices besides a complicated and expensive engine swap.

Lexus for 17 years has ALWAYS been VERY conservative with 0-60 times. ALWAYS. The mags usually always get the same or better 0-60 time.
With the new M3 specs not out, Lexus does not want to give away everything![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Expect low to mid 4s in 0-60 and low 13s in the 1/4.

Agreed. The latest Audi RS4 does mid to high 4s and very low 13s.
Compare to the RS4, the IS-F's engine is 0.8L bigger with significantly more low end torque, my guess is 200 lbs lighter overall, with 2 more gears.
The IS-F should exceed the straight line performance of the RS4.

In the video of the introduction of the IS-F the guy said the car was engineered for extremely fast launches. I take this to mean "engineered" over, and above, the IS350. Look for times better than 4.5 0-60 and better than 12.7 1/4 mile.

With eight gear ratios, there's no reason in the world it can't be both quick off the line AND have good top end. I'll be really surprised if it doesn't break into the 12's.

And really guys/gals is a 0 to 60 time or quarter mile time really what decides for you what is or is not a 'cool' car? When I was very young my friends and I lived or died by the 0 to 60 times posted in that 'boy racer' magazine called Motor Trend. Man, if one car was a tenth faster than another the other car was just junk.......I mean Hey man my Oldsmobile can beat your Hudson (by a tenth) Whoa.........sell that beast and get the Olds. Now that I'm a lot older I realize what a crock of crap those numbers are on the street. Sure if you live to drag on the track I can understand the need but otherwise who the f..k cares?

And NO. I really don't care whether your gay or not I'm just stating the news nothing more so don't try to 'flame' me cause I won't respond.
