2005 Pedal install into an 07
For those of you who dont know, Lexus has decided to no longer sell the 06+ sport accelerator pedal seperately. Now you must buy the entire assembly, which is ~$330
I think this is because the way people have been installing the pedal. Many people have been taking apart the assembly while its on the car. And probably a few people messed it up and took it to lexus for repair.
However you can buy the 01-05 aluminum pedal. Its exactly the same. The 01-05 costs a little more ~$50, because if comes with the accelerator bar.
I ordered it from Sewell along with the 06+ brake pedal and foot rest
Sewell took the pedal off the bar for me. Which is nice of them.
Now for the install
1) Remove the lower plastic cover(below the airbag).
2) Use a 10mm socket and an angle adapter, remove the top right bolt. Please dont drop the bolt
3) Remove the lower bot
4) Pull the entire assembly out and unplug it
5) Use a T5 bit and hammer the pin out as much as possible
6) After its pushed out as much as possible, use the back of a 5/32 drill bit, and hammer it out even more
7) After you are tired of that, hopefully you can just pull out the pin with a wrench
Then do the reverse for the install
