I haven't switched the car over yet, so I'm not sure. But I'm guessing that it'll be roughly the same premium.

Wow, I am surprised that anyone would trade an IS for a Civic. Even if it is the best civic ever. Its just too boy-racer-ish... just my opinion. The IS250, MT... I could tell by looking at the specs, that it wasnt going to be the a fun race car.

I have no doubt that the SI is a fun car though.

Did you consider buying the EVO? or an STI? or the new G35 Sedan? The Evo is a beast, and honestly no car offers the type of potential an EVO does.

My only problem with the vast majority of alternatives is the number of doors. If two doors had been adequate for what I need to do, I would still have my Scion tC.

I am also not nearly so rigid as to require a manual transmission. I still own a manual, but it's not a deciding factor for me.

A good friend of mine once said, after trading in his 370whp mustang for a ford focus, "Its more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow." Even in cars where the handling is not as nice, its really that raw feeling that we're about to lose control that we all love, isn't it?

Sorry but the only thing fun about a Civic Si over a IS 250 is the lower car note.

Relatively speaking, its fun for FWD and IMO, that is WWD (Wrong Wheel Drive) in anything sporty.

Sorry but your happy with your Civic and that is all that matters

Congrats on the SI!

Honda makes a good car. Owning several Accords and Civics in the past, they're reliable.

I have come to appreciate the quietness of the cabin that Lexus/Toyota offers. The Honda's are just so loud on the freeway.

I favor the Scion TC more than the Civic, it offers more value for the $$. But it’s not functional if you need a 4 door. :-(

I must admit when I first read your thread I was taken back. But when I saw how many post you have written, you really did give your IS a try. With how much time a person spends in a car, you have to enjoy what you drive. Best of luck!

So anyway, why did you end up with the SI? Did you try other cars, like the BMW, RX-8 or G35?

If I had to trade in the is for a econo pocket rocket instead of the si i would have gone Mazda Speed 3. More power, more utility, looks sharp, probably handles better too.
