Talking When is IS300 coming out?

Any hints that 2k8 model will have the 300 engine from the GS? I test drove the IS250.. the car is underpowered.. Seems like power/gas-consumption, the GS300 engine is much more efficient.

Interesting question

Wait a year, the 08' IS-F should have enough power for you.

3.0L engine from "long ago" is now obsolete in the U.S. The 2.5 and 3.5 L engines of the 2nd gen IS are the more fuel efficient and cost effective engines that Lexus provides. It will no longer be offered for ANY Lexus vehicle; not the IS, ES, GS, nor RX carry that engine anymore.

There will be no IS300.

For now, and the near future, it will be the IS250, 350, and "F."

There is an IS300 in Europe, and I belive that it is a diesel engine. Saw it in a magazine today.

The 2IS's in other parts of the world are still the old 3.0L engine. There's also a IS220D (D for diesel) in Europe, I believe.

If you're looking at a IS250, though, you're in an area that should also get the IS350.

Here in europe we only get the IS250 and the IS220d (d = 4cyl diesel engine 180hp 295Lbft tourque) the diesel only comes with manual transmission.

There is a 2nd Generation IS300. Sold in Brunei & the Middle East. It has a 3.0L 3GR-FE V6 engine. 228HP.

The IS250 is selling very well here in America. So I don't think we'll see anything yet..

What about the engine that was used in the 2006 GS300? It's a V6 3.0L with 245hp and 220 ft-lbs torque. That's would be a good one to drop in the 250 lines.

the i6 3.0 is discontinued. the new v6 3.0 comes in 2 versions (globally). the 2is v6 3.0 in other countries (china/middle east) is different than the v6 3.0 found in the newer 06 gs300. but if the 2is ever gets a 3.0 in the states, it will most likely be the one from the discontinued 06 gs300 (which lasted only a yr in the states.. for now).

Not really referring to the 3.0 of the previous generation 2GS300, & the RX300 has 220 HP & 222 ft lb , which is still more powerful then the IS250 BTW.
I would prefer a new IS300 with the 2006 GS300's 3.0 engine with 245hp and 220 ft-lbs. I hope they are upgrading the IS250 to IS300 with a mid-cycle facelift in a year or two.

that's wat i was referting to..
i would buy a IS in a heartbeat if they put that engine in the 2IS..
I just don't need the 300HP of IS350.. that's too much for me
