Default I will never doubt you guys again !!

Even though I read post after post saying not to let the dealer wash your car I decided, hey what the heck they're the dealer, they should know what they're doing, right,... WRONG !!! I just got my car back and got swirls everywhere (Obsidian black in case you're wondering).

I will never let them touch it again

Know anyone that knows and is willing to take on this job?? I've been wanting to learn, but there's just not enough time and especially not now with this cold weather..

Black suffers the worst case of washing "mismanagement."

For lighter colored cars, the swirls are unnoticable. Chrome wheels however are never sparkling with the dealership's car wash...

you should try visiting some forums like autopia. oh- also a da polisher helps.

Yep.

I always get a funny look from my service Rep when I say I don't want them washing my car. Its like he wants to ask why... but doesn't.

LOL the last time I had my car int he external was filthy, but still I'd rather do it myself!

I've been saying no to dealer car washes for a few years now. my service writer knows, they hang a red tag on my rear view mirror that says "DO NOT WASH"

I also have them put on every work order that only my master tech can drive or work on my car.

The thing that bothers me is when they take their cigarette-slime-soaked rags and wipe down the inside of the windows. Takes me several attempts to get them clean again.

they use the same nasty rags with god knows what on them all day on every car. it's mainly the dirt in their rag that gets you.

You CA boys got it easy. Winter around here can be brutal and I have no choice but to let the dealer wash the car. They have done a good job so far and I haven't noticed any damage besides swirls. But swirls are to be expected eventually.

Meguiar's near the John Wayne airport in Irvine, CA, and they offer free classes to teach you how to use their products. Go figure. If I remember correctly it's every Wednesday from like 5pm to 8pm or something. Don't take my word for it, but last time I went there and spoke with a guy that had a Obsidian IS350 like me =)

If your close, you might want to look up their website and give them a call to see if you can get any more details.
