Could be a stupid question since i'm not familiar with connecting an iPod to the Aux, but what kind of cable would i use to connect the iPod to play? Is it a 3.5" RCA cable? Can the iPod even play through the audio system without any additional module? any help appreciated.. thanks

You need a 3.5 mm male to male mini jack cable. Radio Shack sells it for $10. I have my Sirius receiver plugged to the AUX input. Just put your radio on AUX and you can control the volume through the steering wheel control.

you might want to add a noise supperssor as well...othewise you will likely get alternator wine...I got one from Cruthfield...pretty cheap..
I rarely use my ipod in the car..I burned MP3's and just load up six of them in the CD drive and have plenty of musice to choose from

A mini-jack cable will work, but is not the best way to do it. Instead, get one of these:

It will take your line out signal from the iPod rather from the rather crappy headphone amplifier. It will NOT be dependent on the volume set on the iPod and will produce a MUCH BETTER sound with very little distortion. A big improvement.
