Recently I went in for my oil change at 22,000 miles. Lexus was booked until the 26th and my mileage was at 22,011 so I decided to get oil change at the regular place, not lexus.
So I dropped off the car and went to eat next door, when I came back the tech told me i was missing the splash guard (the plastic cover that covers the oil filter). He lifted the car for me again and I saw that it was missing. I may have knocked it off when I was driving on the mountains, I hit a rock that went under my car.
Does this splash guard come off easily? Does it use a screw or one of those plastic plugs that we use on the engine cover?
Anyways, my regular oil change place qouted me $42 for a new splash guard, I havent called Lexus yet. Does anyone know where I can get one online?

wow thats really strange that it's missing, because that cover is mounted by THREE screws. hmm..... perhaps the last oil changer forgot to put it back on..

That's what im thinking, I think the last time I did my oil change with Lexus, they forgot to put it on. Now I can't blame them because my last recent oil change wasnt with Lexus. They'll just blame it on the place I did my last oil change.
