My buddy fabbed up an aluminum mount to stick to his headrest (in his m3). Granted, this was back when we had machine shop access during daytime hours. He did a pretty thorough job with it too. Super rigid.

Unless the headrest mount is also secured to other things, it will only be as rigid as the seat back. I've never had a seat back that didn't shake on the track, so I'm sure it would need to have some supplemental straps to other areas in the car.
