2007 Vdim
I just ordered a 2007 IS350 TP,Lux,Nav,ML but I never got to drive the 2007 (I have 2 06's 350/250 so I know what to exxpect) my questions are simple I have read that the old "pedal dance" is no longer needed to disable the VDIM/VSC/Trac, is it now just a button?? Other question, is the Nav hack still a possibility? Is it the same procedue as the 06? I read everywhere, and searched but besides this button, and a shark fin are there any other new features??

No. You tap it once to turn off TRAC. You hold it down for three seconds and it turns off VSC. VDIM is never off.

VDIM is a "next-generation" VSC, basically. It integrates traction control, ABS, VSC into one controller that basically lets you push the friction circle in any direction within the pre-defined limits. 250's come with standard VSC, 350s with VDIM.

Sorry guys. I read the service manual. There is no way to turn off VDIM. Ever. You can turn off TRAC and VSC, but VDIM is never off because VDIM is responsible for EBFD (electronic brake force distribution) and BA (brake assist) and these basic ABS and proportioning functions cannot be turned off.
Whomever told you VDIM could be turned off did not read the book and doesn't understand how the system operates. Read for yourself:

Here's how Toyota explains VDIM:
This description is common to both the 2006 and 2007 models. The screenshot in my earlier post is only in the 2007 manual.
(d) The VDIM manages all functions, such as the ABS with EBD, BA, the TRAC, and the VSC. It is operated by the VSC system, which regulates a
brake fluid pressure. The steering cooperative control function is also available. The VDIM is able to perform comprehensive management.
(e) Conventional brake control systems begin to control either the braking or motive force in order to stabilize the vehicle motion when it becomes unstable due to loss of tire traction. In contrast, in order to maintain stable vehicle control, the VDIM commences controlling the brake and steering systems in accordance with changes in balance before the vehicle becomes unstable. As a result, smooth vehicle control is achieved.
(f) Conventional brake control systems manage all related functions, such as the ABS with EBD, BA, the TRAC and the VSC independently, according to the vehicle dynamics. In contrast, the VDIM provides smooth control by seamlessly integrating all those functions.

And everyone said the 2006 pedal dance and the 2007 defeat was VDIM OFF. This proves my point you cannot turn off VDIM 100%. VSC/TRAC Disable is the real term for this...not VDIM OFF. This is a point I have been stressing countless times for almost 2 years now.

No No you have me all wrong here, I have a 2006 IS350, I added screens wheels, suspension, exhaust, intake, and the such and it going in for a custom paintjob, the BASF blue with the INGS lx kit, also I have a suede headliner going in , I got the 250 for my wife for x-mas, and foolishly thought I would be able to use it, but all you married guys will understand how it really works , so I needed a new daily driver and seriously considered getting another 335i, but since I blew the last one up (yup it was me 424kms on the clock) I have a sour taste in my mouth so I went with where my heart really is and got a new 350, it will be here from Edmonton next week.
