TRUE LIFE: I Still haven't floored the car...
hey, ive had my car for nearly 2 months now, and i just broke 1400 miles. for some reason i am afraid to floor the car. i feel like my cars engine will some how get weaker from abuse or something. so i hate it when i push the car. you guys need to educate me, is there a chance that my car will become weaker or lose power if i floor it too much? i drive spiritedly all the time, but don't ever really floor it.

lol i totally understand what your talking about. It took me 3 years to floor my RX and i still dont do it that often. The sound scares me, it sounds like its about to explode.
with that said, i also have an IS300, but i floor that much easily. I guess its the natural mentality that you dont want to hurt those you love. However, flooring is not bad for the car as long as you shift before the redline. it was built to be floored

I have a Acura Integra GSR with a 8k redline and I have floored the living crap out of this car. Had it for 7 years and it still runs brand new like when I first drove it off the dealers lot yeras ago.
The key is to maintain your car properly. I changed the oil at 3k miles with Mobil 1 synthetic. I'm sure that helps alot.

whoa...do it, do it, do it..
Toyota makes a pretty resilient motor..I've had the same 97 Toyota Avalon (1MZ-FE) since high school. I used to drive that thing like I hated it, guess what? it's still running..220,000 miles later. Live a little..get on the highway and give it some gas (safely). Once or twice is fine. Wow, if you guys are afraid of flooring it and your engines making loud sounds, I wonder how you would last at a Dyno session.

Shift to S mode......put it go 6th, and just have sum fun. I say if you get a car, enjoy it. I mean why did you get the 350 if you don't use the extra hp? I also like to drive "spirited" when the situation allows for it, but I don't abuse my car to death. You have to find a good balance so that you can enjoy the car and still maintain it. hope that helps.
