Default Microsoft Zune & Aux

Anyone have their Zune connected via the Aux port?

If so, how's the sound quality and what kind of cable are you using?

Good question. I was wondering the same thing actually the other day. I'm guessing Zune has some kind of cable we can buy that works with the Aux port in the car.

I have tried connecting my Zune w/ the car but it sound quality is the same as my iPod. Both devices have to be on max volume along w/ the volume at 40+ to have decent sound. When I plugged in my iPod to a friend's 2006 4Runner w/ aux, it sounded so much clearer and didn't have to put the volume at max to hear it.

That's just my experience.

I have my Zune hooked up to my 07 IS 350 through the aux port in the center console. I am using the Monster Cable Stereolink to connect it. I do have to have the volume all the way up on the player but with my ML volume around 30 it sounds good. Hope that helps.

If you have an iPod, use the Belkin or Monster car power adapters that has a line-out port on it. Then the volume control on the iPod will not affect the volume level coming out of your speakers of you car.

In addition of using such a power adapter, when you turn off your engine, the iPod will automatically stop playback and power off.

I had this setup in my old Accord, and it is in my IS now.

I also have to crank my mp3 player up full blast to get some decent sound out of it, but it sounds just as loud if I were to put a CD in.

I'm using a Creative Zen Vision:M with a generic cable plug BTW.

I would think with a ZUNE you could get better play back. .WMA standard is a much richer sound @ 192kbs instead of that .AAC crap the IPOD has.

I really wish I would have got a ZUNE instead. Are you ZUNE owners transferring your music at 192 or less than that?

I credit the crappy sound from the IPOD from the rip quality. The majority of all my music was .WMA which had to be converted to MP3 or .AAC which caused it to lose more quality. /cry However the Belkin cable sounds good with the on/off function.

Yeah i'm getting all my music at least 192kbs. I usually burn all my Mp3's to cd (data format) and listen to them, but to be able to use the 30gb drive on the Zune would be nice.

I haven't tried the Zune, but I agree that the iPod sound quality is terrible.
