Go read your purchase invoice. My local dealer, as with most Lexus Dealers in canada, includes a MANDATORY $300 registration program (Protector Plus) for all new Lexus sold. This program is supposed to put a label on every single major body part with a registration number that is associated with your VIN, so that if someone stole it and try to sell it you can trace that part.
If my antenna was stolen, it will be covered under the Protector Plus program.
This program is not a dealer add-on, but a program that I believe is required by Lexus Canada for all its dealers. Dunno if there is somethings similar in the US.
Anyother way to check if you're enrolled in the Proctector Plus program is open your trunk and look at the bottom ledge, you should see a serial part number with the "protector plus" label on it. If you don't, then you're not part of this program and you will need to file a claim with your insurance.
good luck!

I bought my IS in Toronto, and refused to pay for "Protector Plus" even though the dealer claimed it was already on the car.
I'm pretty sure some bylaw was passed so that car dealers couldn't force customers to pay for window etching or similar...but I don't remember where I read that.
When the car was delivered, it did have the protector plus on it, and I have since learned that protector plus is, in fact, a type of insurance. Dealers like it because it covers their (relatively high) deductables when cars are on their lots. If a car gets stolen and isn't recovered after 30 days, Protector Plus pays them $4000 - $5000 (I don't remember the exact amount). I believe that Lexus names itself as the policy holder, and then will give you the insurance money towards a new Lexus. In my case, Lexus would just keep the money, since I opted out of the service.
Sort of weird that by opting out, it's in Lexus' best interest that my car gets stolen...
