(like what Tcho82 posted)
TIP: Do NOT use the headphone jack on your Ipod for the connection. Buy a dock power adapter that has a LINE-OUT port for best quality.

By using the LINE-OUT, the volume control on the Ipod has NO effect on the output from the car speakers.

I don't know if this is the same for all adapters, but when I turn off my engine, the Ipod automatically stops playback and turns off without any intervention.

I think i'm confused. So to get the best aux audio quality I can, I always need to have a power adapter plugged in?

jeeze louise guy's here's the link. if you buy the fire wire they'll sell you a charger for like $3.50 more. The din firewire allows you to use your steering wheel controls for volume but not song selection http://store.sik.com/merchant.mv?Scr...ry_Code=CABLES

Amen, brother, someone finally came up with the right info. How this thread got hijacked into power adaptors is beyond me. I bought one of the Sik line out adaptors as pictured and it makes a world of difference by bypassing the junky headphone amp.

I don't worry about charging up the iPod in the car. I take it inside and use the Apple charger every few days.

Default modification for song control.

I remember posts from 6 months ago discussing modifications to allow song selection control from the car rather than the IPOD. Antone remember the details.
