Default how to get the AUX/ipod to work

Hey guys, I have recently bought an 07 IS350 and am trying to figure out how to get my IPOD nano working in the car. So the AUX is hidden in the back of the console. Apparently, I need to buy an adapter at Radio Shack or somewhere to connect the ipod to the AUX and then be able to play it on my stereo. Which brand adapter/what store have you guys bought from and what is the price range on them?
Thanks for the info

my cousin gave me her's she said she got it with her nano...its a double sided plug for the head fones. Plug it into your car to your ipod. Sadly, you have to control your music from your ipod not from your gps if you have it...Hope i helped i have an 07' IS250AWD myself! Goodluck!

Do a search in the forum and you'll find what you're looking for.

You need a ground loop isolator, and radio shack sells an adapter that allows you to rotate the DC plug.

I also went and bought a Belkin Ipod charger with Aux Out. That way you get the cleanest signal from the ipod and you don't have to worry about hitting the volume switch everytime you change songs.

This is what I got, and HIGHLY recommend to all ipod users....

Monster Cable Ultra-Low Profile iPod iCharger (AICHG2 IP)
http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Cable-.../dp/B00015GYTU

The power adapter end is low profile, so no problem closing the console lid. The line-out hole is on the dock connector, rather than being on the power adapter's end (the Belkin). I've read many reviews that the Belkin have sound distortion because the line-out is right on the power adapter.

You'll still have to get a 3.5mm mini stero cable and ground look isolator from Radio Shack.

If you go to sik.com you can get a docking adapter cable that allows the steering wheel volume controls to work with your ipod.

Between plugging it in the center console and then using that monster charger, dont you have a lot of cords running around?

I haven't had any problem using the belkin. Once I got the ground loop isolator everything worked perfect.

do you guys have problem with the volume? I've tried my friend's ipod on the car and for some reason you have to turn the volume super up to actually hear something. Any suggestion?

BTW, I think she got the wire from RS and I don't know what kind it is. Does cheap connector have to do anything with it?

Thanks

Plus the Belkin unit has its own gain built in, so once you match the level correctly for the car(compared to CD sources and FM volume levels). I've had no issues with distortion.

but this monster solution looks like it works just as good. And its cheap.

To get the best sound you need to get the audio extracted from the dock connector. So something needs to be connected to the dock connector, and somewhere along that line there needs to be a line out, that then needs to be plugged into a ground loop isolator.

If you are just plugging in a minijack into the headphone jack and then straight into the aux input, you will get lesser volume, not a clean signal, and possible distortion from having the volume set too high on the ipod(or accidentally raising it while changing a song)
