I don't know about you, but I don't consider a trunk light "equipemnt" It isnt' listed anywhere on the sticker nor have I seen a description of it on their website, so if the IS did happen to NOT have a truck light, many, if not most people would probably overlook this until it was too late. I've bought several new cars in my time and never have I checked if there is a trunk light, I just assume it is there. When I got my IS, I was freaking out about this also until I said to myself "there is no way this 43k vehicle doens't have a trunk light" looked harder and found it.

lol yeah the only reason i never looked was because at delivery the service guy said they didnt put trunk lights on the '06...actually now that i think about it he even told me my best bet was to get one of those stick on dome light things from walmart...

ps - mine has a little glass cover on it that says "in case of emergency break glass to release a chuck norris roundhouse kick"...evidently the service guy was scared of chuck

get a taplight...use some 3m tape and stick it the underside of the trunk. Whenever you need illumination just tap the taplight. Brought to you by RONCO.

Get in, close it, and see. While you're in there, you can test that emergency opening rip cord.

(or, you could just look thru the back seat.)

i was thinkin the same thing...it doesnt stay on when the lid's shut...fortunately for my nephew i used CWS's backseat method lol

I didn't know my car had a trunk light for like 6 months. I only found it because a can of coke exploded in my trunk and while cleaning it up i noticed it perched up there.
