anyone in Houston successfully have DRL disabled?

I know many people encountered problem with the dealership when they want the DRL disabled. IMO we should have the right of disabling it. It's not required by law.
What you can do is, tell the dealership that you need to frequently visit military base in your area and ALL LIGHTS MUST BE OFF as you enter the gate. All lights, including DRL or the guards would point the guns at you.
