Aftermarket Bluetooth
Hi All,
Just joined the forum after I bought my new IS last night (I know I need to post some pics already ). I didn't care to spend the >$2G for the nav system, but would love to have the bluetooth functionality. Have any of you heard of a good solution? I'd prefer to have one that doesn't require the use of a visible microphone.
Thanks for the help!

parrot has a plug and play kit that fits directly into the 12V power socket...

another option would be getting a portable nav unit with built in bluetooth...i believe some tomtom and garmin models have BT
hope that helps

Thanks for the ideas. I was really hoping I could install something completely hidden away that would interrupt the stock stereo like the Nav Bluetooth system does. Guess I'll keep looking around.

Oops... I just checked Crutchfield's website and it says the Parrot isn't compatible with the new IS cause there's no harness available. But I bet there's a way to get it to work with some tinkering. Here's the wiring diagrams for connecting it to an old IS200. Looks like you can install it by cutting into the wires instead of requiring a harness.

EDIT: There is a harness available for the new IS... http://www.parrotkits.com/donotcut.html

I have the Parrot 3200 Color
(highly recommended) and am using the same harness as mentioned above, the QCJBL-1 from www.parrotkits.com - it is plug and play and as close to factory bluetooth as you can get on the IS....
