I suck at parallel parking...
My new apartment complex charges $85/month for a garage, so I'm having to parallel park on the street. My car is not equipped with park assist or tilting side mirrors (I do have the rearview camera) and I just scruffed up one of my rims today.
Can either of these features be added on at the dealer? If not, what are my other options (besides just getting more practice.)

haha practice practice practice i live by the University of Washington and i feel ya on that the parking assists only tells u how close u are to the car behind you... haha and shouldnt ur side mirrors tilt? ... weird i have a back up camera on my car... and mirrors that tilt let me know how that works for u.. parking a LITTLE further away from the curve wont kill ya either

Just tilt the side mirror manually when you go to park, only takes like 3 seconds... A good technique for parallel parking beginners is just back up in a sharper angle like almost 45 degree angle till you bump the tire against the curb. But if you reverse in a too shallow an angle you'll scrape. Then pull forward a few inches then you've set the distance for the rear tire to the curb then adjust the front to match.

If you park on the street, you are asking for trouble.

anyway... just practice! haha the more you do it, the better you get. i was really good with my old car with parking straight (forward/backward) and parallel parking and this car spoils everyone w/the camera and tilting mirrors.
it would cost way too much than it's worth to get installed. you can just pay me the money and i'll teach you.

$85 a totally worth it. I say pay for it.
Your front and rear bumper are going to be all banged up in no time. Other people cant park either and they gonna hit it i guarantee it.
