i've got the NAV/ML stereo, and i've loaded up a bunch of CD's.
but the name of the CD, and the song titles don't show on the touch screen.
is it becase the cd's are old?, or is this something that only shows up on self burned discs?

CDs are old.

Try getting a newer CD. If you use iTUnes to burn CD, goto the settings and make sure the "include CD text" box is checked under the burning options.
