Supercharger Available

I know what you are saying. If you buy an IS-F you will have a normal IS-F but if you install a supercharger on an IS-350 you will have a VERY fast IS-350. Kind of like a modern day "sleeper".

I assume you're talking Canadian prices, becuase US IS350 base starts at USD$35K and even with the most expensive option it's only another USD$9K = USD$44K before taxes so your USED IS350 cannot be worth USD$45K before taxes
You don't need to work for Lexus to have an idea where the IS-F pricing will be. It should be close to the current M3 and AMG C-class and Audi S4 pricing, which would be around USD$50-$60k. It's meant to be an exclusive and low volume car more for prestige than pure profit - which is what the high-volume lower priced IS250 is for.
My local Canadian dealer told me they expect the IS-F to be around CAD$20K more than the IS350, which sells at CAD$48,900, which would bring it near the CAD$70K mark in the M3 territory
Anyway you see it, the Tom's supercharger doesn't seem to be worth the money

Looking at the picture of the Tom's supercharger kit, it seems to be more than the Roots Supercharger and hardware, it also includes an intercooler, and the fuel management computer.
I can only assume that it comes with a conservative tune in order to maximize engine life.
Here is the description:
"MAXIMUM POWER 263kw(358PS) MAXIMUM TORQUE 488N・m(49.8kgf・m) Exclusive use of roots type compressor unit with Exclusive computer/Water-cooled-intercooler/radiator hoses/water-pump hoses/harness/V-belt/Surge tank/piping/ everything included for a complete bolt on set-up"
This works out to 353hp at 6500 RPM (316hp torque at 4,600 RPM) approximately...
I don't know...it may be worth it, a little suspension work, a cold air intake, a good performance exhaust...it might even be possible to get a more aggressive tune and more horsepower with different pulleys, etc...maybe another 15 - 20 HP...
Besides, the quality of Tom's parts is as close to genuine Toyota as one can get...whether the cost is worth it or not depends on the individual.

the is350 is more like 5.1 0-60 and the is-F, is more like 4.5 or 4.6 0-60, i mean come on it has over 400 hp. If u are a potential buyer in jan 2008, and u are looking at a base is350 = 35,000 and a base is-f 50,000. This equals a 15,000 difference now is it worth to pay 8500 for a supercharger for an IS350? maybe. That supercahrge will not give u the power the is-f has but it will get u close, but u will also have problems with tuning and u will throw away ur waranty. In my opinion in that situation i would most likely buy an IS-F if i want that power and can afford it, but if i can't then i would just get an IS350 but not supercharge it.
Now in my case, I have an 06 is350, if i were to trade my car in today i would probably get only around 28 to 32 grand. so the difference beteen that and the IS-F is more like 20,000, so that supercharger is alot more appealing since i am saving alot more to get the similar power if u include a good exhuast and intake and tuning. I would still not get a supercharger. Due to warranty and problems with maintining a supercharger. Now if i were to get to around late 2008 or early 2009 and I ahve 8500 in my hand, i would no doubt get that supercharger cause the warranty is about to expire and my car has deprecaited and I will not have the money to get an IS-F until I get out of med school and residency and by then i would prolly get the New Supra, and i love modifying my car. And after doing so much to ur car do u really want to start over with a new car for added horsepower? prolly not

I think Road & Tracks or Car & Driver tested the IS350 0-60mph is 4.9s
Lexus tends to give out specs that overestimates their actual readings so that no one complains if the car fail to give out what the company claims.
So I think the IS-F will be around 4.5s?

If going fast is all you want to do get a Yamaha R1... much quicker 0-60 time and all for less than $8500 (used). Keep your is350 as the daily driver.
(there are much faster sport bikes out there but im a fan of Yamaha)

What would you recommend for those that want speed but don't want to kill themselves?

actually motortrend rated the IS350 at 4.9 in their last test along with automobile magazine.
"The Lexus blasted to 60 mph in 4.9 sec. and to the quarter-mile mark at a blistering 13.5, which bests even the more expensive V-8-powered Audi S4"
That's a quote from MT review of it vs. the tl vs the g35
